“Libraries Rock!” Summer Reading Program

“Libraries Rock!” is the theme for our 2018 Summer Reading program and is open to all ages in Pemiscot County.

Themes include “Instruments”, “Sounds of Nature”, “Science in Music”, “Rock Around the World”, and “Styles and Stars”.

We will be continuing three days a week for activities –

Tuesdays – Talking books and story time with games,

     Wednesdays – children’s movie, and

Thursdays – “Crafternoons” for activities, art, and creativity, especially rock painting!

Children in Grades K-6 (from all over Pemiscot County) are welcome to attend and take part.

Students in grades 7-12 (from all schools in the county) are welcome to join our team and help with the games and activities for a community service certificate.

Sign-up for all ages will begin on May 29 with an ice cream social in the John VanAusdall Reading pavilion in the backyard of the library. “Libraries Rock!” will continue until July 26th so make plans to attend.

Registration will give readers a canvas book bag, some book goodies, and their names listed as a participant in our summer program. No logging of books needed, but if a child reads five hours they will be entered into a drawing for a prize at the end of the program– Just enjoy READING!!!
