Missouri Digital Heritage

An interesting collection of historical items about all things Missouri are in the Missouri history collections at Missouri Digital Heritage. More than 9 million records can be accessed through these digitized historical records and photographs, including the collections of the Missouri State Archives, the Missouri State Library and other institutions from across the state.

Another new photo collection from the Missouri State Archives is now available through Missouri Digital Heritage. The Vanishing Missouri Photograph Collection includes over 1,700 public submissions to the Vanishing Missouri photography contests conducted by Missouri Secretaries of State in the 1990s. Submissions were judged on quality and historical significance, and the winning photographs were published in the Official Manual for the State of Missouri, also known as the “Blue Book”. Most of these photograph entries relate to agriculture, families, early homes and architecture.
