The local newspaper houses bound volumes of The Democrat-Argus in the Pemiscot County Historical Society room in the library and microfilm from the years 1891 until 1940 are available. The newspaper can be found at the following link – containing the years 1891-1966.
The first of our Pemiscot County newspapers have been digitized and are being added to our library’s website in the “Online Resources” tab. This project was supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. An LSTA Digital Imaging grant was applied for by Caruthersville Public Library and supported with letters by several community residents.
